This message seems to occur when the network port this network card is connected to (e.g. switch, hub) is not set to auto-negotiate, but instead has the speed and/or duplex-mode configured manually.
Setting the port type of the peer to auto-negotiate should solve the problem, or you can also configure the port speed of this network card manually to avoid getting this message.
