If you are running McAfee Anti-Virus then make sure that outgoing SMTP traffic is not blocked from this machine (e.g. "Access Protection") and that no firewall is blocking traffic between this host and the mail server.

This error occurs when the email server which is specified in an EventSentry notification (aka target) is unavailable or unreachable.

If you know for sure that the email server is up and running then make sure that:

* No firewall is blocking the connection
* No Anti-Virus software is running on the host blocking the connection attempt
